The GPW Foundation, in cooperation with the Warsaw Stock Exchange, has announced the results of the competition for the best bachelor's and master's theses for the tenth time. A total of 66 works were submitted to the competition, including 38 master's theses and 28 bachelor's theses, and among the winners was a student of the University of Szczecin. In the category of bachelor's theses, first place was taken by a student of the University of Szczecin, Nataniel Wypych. He received the award for his thesis, “Wpływ komunikatu o powołaniu prezesa zarządu na stopy zwrotu spółek notowanych na GPW w latach 2000 - 2016” the supervisor of which was Dr. Hab. Katarzyna Byrka-Kita, prof. US. The thesis was defended at our university. The awarded work was created in cooperation with Dr. Mateusz Czerwiński as part of the activities of the "Trzy Kwadranse” scientific circle operating at the Department of Finance and Banking.

Professor Elżbieta Perzycka-Borowska and Mr. Michał Parchimowicz took part in the Bett 2024 educational fair! This is an extraordinary event that focuses on innovations in the fields of Al and VR. 500 exhibitions were prepared, which interested the audience and made the place full of groundbreaking solutions. Employees of the US Pedagogy Institute who had the pleasure of taking part in this event witnessed various presentations. It was a great opportunity to deepen knowledge of advanced technology and its further education and development. Now we are looking forward to Bett 2025, wondering what new things the future will bring in the field of educational technologies.

On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak appointed prof. dr hab. Robert Czerniawski as director of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute. Hab. dr prof. Robert Czerniawski is an ecologist of flowing and still waters, an ichthyologist and a hydrobiologist, as well as a specialist in the transport of organic matter in rivers. In his scientific work, he mainly deals with the anthropogenic impact of transformations of catchments and riverbeds as well as water pollution on the functioning of water ecosystems and water resources in the era of climate change. He is also the director of the Institute of Biology and head of the Department of Hydrobiology at the University of Szczecin.
