On January 28, Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy will play again, in which the University of Szczecin is actively participating for the 8th time! Last year, we managed to raise over PLN 120,000. This year, the University's charitable activities will be supported by one hundred volunteers and 25 companies. Funds will be collected not only in the traditional way, i.e. by putting money into cans, but also during planned auctions and events. The plans include, among others, fairs with lotteries, a collection during the performance of the NieMa Theater, Areopag, a charity match and the Great Concert in the Śródmieście Gardens. We encourage you to support the WOŚP collection of the University of Szczecin staff.
On January 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., the second stage of the 53rd Biology Olympiad will take place, in which biological science enthusiasts from the West Pomeranian and Lubusz Voivodeships will take part. 50 participants from 15 secondary schools from cities such as: Szczecin, Szczecinek, Koszalin, Kołobrzeg, Gryfino, Zielona Góra, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Żary, Kostrzyn nad Odrą qualified for the second stage of the competition. We are proud that our university will host participants and teachers at the University of Szczecin Campus at ul. Wąska 13. Participants have 180 minutes to solve the tasks, and after completing the test, they receive symbolic prizes funded by sponsors and partners of the Biology Olympiad.
This will be the largest outdoor student event - Juwenalia 2024. The organizers have just revealed the date. We still have to wait for the artists to be announced. Juwenalia Szczecin 2024 will take place on May 16-18. Students of Szczecin's universities will take over the keys to the city and will have fun together for three days. Juwenalia is, of course, big concerts of the biggest stars of the Polish music scene, but it is also numerous accompanying events and great integration of the academic community. The whole thing is to take place at Łasztownia in Szczecin. Let us remind you that last year, during the students' festival, the following people appeared on stage: Krzysztof Zalewski, Żabson, Mruzu, Vito Bambino, Fukaj, Chivas, Łydka Grubasa, Strachy Na Lachy, Białas. Who will perform this year? The organizers have not revealed this yet, but they assure that there will be no shortage of well-known and popular artists.
