Wysłuchaj wiadomości w języku angielskim

The University of Szczecin and the Pomeranian Library undertook a joint initiative to promote the works of Joanna and Jan Kulma. The letter of intent, which officially begins this cooperation, was signed by p.o. Director of the Pomeranian Library - Przemysław Wraga and dr hab. Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska, prof. US - Vice-Rector for Organization, representing the Rector of our University prof. dr hab. Waldemar Tarczyński.

One of the goals of the cooperation is to create the Museum of Joanna and Jan Kulma, which is to be an institution of exceptional importance on the map of Szczecin, Western Pomerania and the whole country. Both parties wish to undertake substantive cooperation in the creation and operation of this museum. Numerous activities are planned, such as the collection and sharing of museum collections, the organization of lectures, exhibitions, conferences and joint promotion of authorship. Elżbieta Nowak, the Rector's Plenipotentiary for the organization of the Joanna and Jan Kulma Museum at the University of Szczecin, and Aleksander Skib from the Manuscripts Section of the Special Collections Department of the Pomeranian Library are responsible for coordinating the cooperation activities.

The summer semester is coming to an end, holidays are coming soon, but the Academic Career Office in the US is open all year round!

The team of Radio NiUS was joined by docent Mirosława Rudyk from the Lviv National University. Ivan Franko. It will prepare services in Ukrainian and lectures in audio-video format for students starting their adventure with journalism. There are also plans for programs involving Ukrainians studying at the University of Szczecin.

In 2016, Rudyk defended her doctoral dissertation "Scientific journalistic heritage of Volodymyr Zdorowega: historiography, problems, conceptual foundations". She is the author of several dozen articles on the history and theory of journalism. She has also published two books of poetry.

The Department of Theory and Practice of Journalism, with which Professor Rudyk has been associated for years, celebrates its 70th anniversary. The University of Lviv was founded in 1661 by the Polish king Jan Kazimierz.
