1. On September 30, the inauguration of the academic year 2022/2023 took place in the hall of the University of Szczecin. According to tradition, the official act of accepting candidates as university students was held, as well as the oath of doctoral students. Our Reporter, Michał Nakoniczewski, spoke immediately after the ceremony with professor Waldemar Tarczyński - the rector of the US about the plans for the current academic year.

2. The new academic year has begun. With the arrival of October, tens of thousands of students came to Szczecin. Those who have been studying here for a long time have no problem with accommodation. The situation is different with first-year students. However, in both cases there was a big problem - maintenance costs. This year, the University of Szczecin has prepared 1,328 places in four dormitories. Of these, 257 places are allocated to first-year students. Prices range from 310 to 470 PLN depending on the number of places in a given room. Unfortunately, all places are already taken, and students who managed to receive an "assignment" now have to accomodate there by October 7th. After this time, in the event that someone does not report, another person from the reserve list will take his place. But this list already has over 400 people. Apartment rental prices range from PLN 1,700 to PLN 2,500. And we are talking about studio flats. In the case of renting a room, the prices also went up. Currently, it costs about PLN 1,500. Compared to the previous year, the prices increased by an average of PLN 600-700.

3. The Institute of Economics and Finance of the University of Szczecin invites students to participate in the Business Day. The organizers certify their participation in the event for the purpose of justifying the absence on this day. The organizer of the event is the Department of Economics, Institute of Economics and Finance of the University of Szczecin. The deadline for applications is October 10, details can be found in the application form at forms.office.com The event will take place on October 19 this year. in hours 10: 00-15: 00 in the New Hall of the Institute of Economics and Finance, at ul. Mickiewicza 64 and will be divided into lecture and workshop parts.

4. Customized University! In the Rectorate, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University of Szczecin and the Central Office of Measures, whose main goal is to implement the project "Assessment of the impact of metrology on the economy in Poland". By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science, the University of Szczecin received funding for the project in the amount of PLN 387,444.00 under the Polish Metrology program. The consequence of this funding was the formalization of cooperation with the Central Office of Measures in order to implement the results of scientific research and development works.
