The University of Szczecin and the Contemporary Theater in Szczecin have established cooperation. The parties unanimously declare their will to cooperate aimed at promoting the active participation of the academic community in the theatrical life of Szczecin, stimulating active participation in educational and culture-forming projects, developing artistic sensitivity and conscious reception of art, and using it as an instrument of education that will serve to strengthen competences and professional development of the academic community. The cooperation will in particular concern joint activities and the implementation of cultural projects related to the popularization of theater art in the field of writing, language and translation, as well as the creation of joint media projects.
Doctoral School of the University of Szczecin co-organized the 2nd National Conference of Doctoral Schools, which took place on March 21-22, 2024. The conference was attended by over 130 representatives from 70 doctoral schools from all over Poland. The speakers included Dr hab. Jarosław Korpysa, prof. US – Director of the US Doctoral School. During the discussion, in particular issues related to the evaluation of doctoral schools, the effectiveness of education and the cooperation of school directors and deans with the doctoral students' self-government were discussed. The next meeting will be next year.
March 20 this year dr hab. prof. Robert Czerniawski, director of the Institute of Biology of the University of Szczecin, was appointed by the Minister of Climate, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, to the State Council for Nature Conservation, which is an opinion-giving and advisory body of the minister responsible for the environment. Let us remind you that on January 24, 2024, prof. Robert Czerniawski took up the position of general director of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management - National Research Institute. He also serves as: Chairman of the Nature Protection Council at the Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Szczecin, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Drawa National Park, Vice-President of the Polish Hydrobiological Society. The professor is also the organizer of the cyclical scientific conference "Functioning and protection of flowing waters - PotamON".
